Mahou Shoujo Site

This entry is extremely complex... I have read Mahou Shoujo Site
(Hover to reveal what's under black boxes)

've been wanting to read MHS for the longest time now, but the series is kind of controversial, and complex. Most of this "review" will be censored because of this list of the trigger warnings that this manga has: Mental Abuse, Physical Abuse, Rape, Child Rape, Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Mind Break, PTSD, Suicide, Self-harm, Hopelessness, Household abuse, Brotherly abuse, Blood, Gore, Torture, Confinement, Bullying, Animal Violence, Use of Slurs, Genocide, Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, Child Abandonment, PTSD, Curing of Speech-Impaired Character, Lifechanging Injury, Sex Scenes, Pedophilia, Incest, Human Trafficking, Death of a Loved One, Infant Death, Cutting of Limbs, Miscarriage, Kidnapping, Needles, Terminal Illness, and time travel. I probably forgot something but you got the idea.

Mahou Shoujo site is part of a series of mangas, Mahou Shoujo Site Sept > Mahou Shoujo Site > Mahou Shoujo Site Sept > Mahou Shoujo Site and in parallel to that you have Mahou Shoujo of the end. The stories cannot go separate, and I haven't read Mahou Shoujo of the end yet so. I technically still have a lot to understand about this. but the story is about this weird website that gives out "Sticks", mysterious devices that give unfortunate girls powers so that they can make their unhappy life, happy again. The story is honestly confusing towards the end (Not having read MSOTD). But the beginning of it was pretty fine, the point of the manga is to make you feel horrible and hopeless, and it really does if I'm being honest, this is shorter than CSM, however, it took me longer to finish cause I couldn't handle everything all at the same time. Characters, inside their world, are treated like they disposable trash. But we eventually set on a cast of girls that doesn't change much.

Overall, I don't even know how to structure this without having read the other story... 7/10?

I'm also going to be starting a backlog for 2024 and I'll try to write more complex things about the mangas I read.

"How misfortunate, how misfortunate..." - 7.

Note after Reading Mahou Shoujo of the End

I'm not going to spoil events of the other manga neither talk about it here, just notes for this series after reading the other one.

Reading Mahou Shoujo of the End REALLY helps this story, and a lot of odd things are not as odd anymore, some things become way less burly on why they happen and how they happened, even tho you still have to put your brain to function to diggest and wrap everything up, I can give a better judgement on this series with less assumptions.

8/10

Another note: The girl crying in the Chad Wojak meme is the protagonist of this series, it is way less funny in the manga tho...
